Community Involvement

At American Reprographics, Inc., we realize the importance of being a part of the community in which we work and live.  We are proud to have the opportunity to work with several local schools in an effort to provide work training and professional skills development.

One example of this community outreach is our partnership with the Gaithersburg High School Adacemy of Finance.  GHS Academy of Finance students  must complete a 120-hour paid internship to fulfill the requirements of the program.  Student interns are integrated into our work environment and are involved in Accounts Receivable, Data Entry, Document Distribution, Marketing, and Payroll activities.  Our specialzed accounting system offers students an opportunity to learn practical skills, as well as an insider's view of a thriving small business.  GHS interns are often encouraged to stay beyond the terms of their internship, and have been known to receive offers of permanent employment with American Reprographics, Inc.  For more information on the GHS Academy of Finance internship program, please visit their website at

We are also proud to work with the Ivymount School of Rockville, MD.  "Ivymount is a non-sectarian, non-public, special education day school.  Ivymount's integrated approach to learning includes educational programs and therapeutic services for 225 students, aged 4-21, from throughout the Washington Metropolitan area with serious developmental delays, learning disabilities, communication disorders, autism, and/or multiple handicaps."  ( Ivymount students assist in our production environment with large-format document scanning, document distribution, data entry, and recycling.  Working with an Ivymount job coach and our employees, the Ivymount students develop job and socialization skills inherent to a professional workplace.

In both cases, these students are considered part of our team.  They are given American Reprographics t-shirts and are included in company functions and outings.  We thank both Ivymount School and Gaithersburg High School for allowing us to be a part of their students' school experience.
